Email Channel

Prerequisites

Before you can add email capability to your application or bot, you need to ask your Aisera Admin team to configure your Aisera Tenant Server to send and receive email. The instructions are in their Implementation Guide.

After the Tenant Server email service has been configured, you need to set up the Email channel for use by your Tenant (like you did for the Data Source) and then you can add the Email channel to bots that you create. Both of these steps can be performed within the Aisera Admin UI.

Step 1 - Create the Email Channel in Aisera UI

  • Email Address Prefix (required): preferred prefix for channel’s email address. This will add the prefix to the beginning of all cluster names.

Please do not set a complete email address. ONLY the prefix

  • Sender Name (required): Setting the Sender name displayed in outgoing emails

  • Logo Url: Use a url for the logo (shown at the top of the email template)

  • Accent Color: Use a hex color (top border and buttons color)

  • Custom Email Address: The customer can use a custom email address which will forward to the channel’s actual email address. The customer needs to setup the forward-address on his mail server. Example: You would set up [email protected] in the Acme mail-server, to forward to [email protected]

  • Custom “no-reply” Address: Instead of using [email protected], the customer can use a custom no-reply address. The customer needs to setup the no-reply-address on his mail server. All messages to this email address need to get dropped.

Step 2 - Add the Email Channel to your Aisera App

Use the following steps to add an Email channel to your Aisera bot.

  1. Select Settings > AiseraGPT to open your application or bot Details page.

  1. Choose the + Add Channel button.

  1. Select your new Email channel from the pull-down list.

  2. Click the OK button.

SMTP for Email Channel in Campaigns

You can use your own SMTP configuration within your Tenant Configuration Settings to use the Aisera Email channel in Campaigns. The Campaign feature supports selection of your preferred SMTP configuration.

When configuring a Campaign, add an Email channel to your bot and use it as the channel to send campaign information.

Set the SMTP details configured in your app’s tenant settings.

The default is Aisera's SMTP server.
